Speak the unsaid

Process consulting is a technical term for what we call "truth-sayer" or "speaker of the unsaid". Imagine if there was someone agnostic, not involved as a coach, facilitator, team member, leader or participant who is trained to positively disrupt. What does that mean? It is agitating with positive intent. This means raising tensions to the surface, sharing observations and reflections with transparency as data for the team or group to react to. Why does this help? Because instead of being stuck beneath the group as an undercurrent holding you back, what is actually happening in the dynamic becomes a useful source of data. The message is different when delivered from this role. It is more objective and less confronting. Think of all the times you have heard the words dysfunctional team, bad culture, politics or bad meeting. Think of all the holding back and inhibitions. How helpful would it be to have someone raise these things so they can be dealt with in the open?
